Greece: Athens: Ancient Agora

The Ancient Agora was our next stop and a natural progression from exiting the Acropolis (that is, after resting atop a giant rock with magnificent views - first image. It still boggles my mind that one can walk amongst ancient ruins with such liberty, not to say it was taken for granted.

I direct you to this page for the history, but look below for the photographs.

Love the photographs Smita! I noticed that in almost all the photos...there's NOBODY!! It definitely gives a sombre overwhelming effect, so mighty and yet so silent!

I want to go to Athens now!

Funny, I tend to wait until people have cleared the shot, so it does appear as it's empty, and some areas were, but for the most part, there were many tourists milling about. Thanks Peaches!!
